New age, experimental rock artist Sparky Quano went all out in an impressive show last week at Outbreak – Shinjuku-Ku, Tokyo. Performing as the usual one-man band, you could have guessed otherwise, as the audience drowned in a wave of floating guitar reverberations, tapping and sporadic vocals likened to a whole army of musicians.
An enormous white, spiky mane in tact and colourful clothing to accompany his character, Quano was not a sight to ignore. His performance also reflects the experimental nature of his music, arms flailing and body moving through each change in melody. This quirky Japanese musician is someone to keep an eye on.
