The Ray Vanderby Trio perform this Thursday 27th May at The Park Hotel Bathurst from 7.30-10.30pm and its free entry, featuring special guest trombonist Brendon McLeod! Brendon Mcleod is an up coming jazz musician from Bathurst. At 15 he is one of the hottest new breed of jazz trombone players to come up through the ranks of the local Central West jazz scene. Brendon began playing trombone at 8 years of age and was taught by his father, renowned French horn player David McLeod. Brendon’s passion for jazz brought him along to see the Ray Vanderby Trio perform at the Park Hotel Bathurst which features 18 year old Bathurst drummer Rohan Moore. Brendon is a member of the Mitchell Conservatorium Jazz Ensemble in Bathurst and he goes the extra mile with his passion for jazz by travelling to Sydney for regular trombone lessons from maestro trombonist Jeremy Borthwick. The Ray Vanderby Trio have a monthly residency at the Park Hotel Bathurst on the last Thursday of each month. Brendon McLeod will be the special guest artist with the band performing at the Park Hotel on Thursday 27th May 7.30-10.30pm. Every month the band will showcase young student players to perform with the band and on Thurs 24th July Bathurst tenor saxophonist 16 year old Anna Leckie will perform.
