SCOTT MACLEOD GETS SOME MAGIC FROM BLUE PIE
16 Jul 2009

We are very pleased to announce that Scott and the Blue Pie License Team have been cooking up a license storm of activity. We have believed in Scott’s music from day one and we know that the world will as well. It is just a matter of time.

Canadian born Scott MacLeod was exposed to the power of the storyteller at an early age. He began his music career in Prince Edward Island and moved to Calgary to immerse himself in the culture of Canada’s West.

Scott’s songs are about moments and memories of people, places, and life experiences from the east coast to the prairies. His songs range from acoustic ballads to hard driving rock and with influences like Blue Rodeo, Neil Young, and Kathleen Edwards, there is something in his music for everyone. With quotes like the following we know he will be moving up in the musical world.

“…Scott understands the value of a well crafted song that has meaning and depth. These are songs that span the Canadian landscape, from western prairie to eastern coast.” John Wort Hannam, Blue Collar Roots, Musician, WCMA Nominee.

“There are influences such as Bob Seger and John Fogerty, but whose sound and songwriting style is something warmer, homier, and more personal. A simple and affecting rustic charm….an exceptional debut.” Mike Bell, The Calgary Sun, Canada.

Scott MacLeod and his new album was created with the help of some of the finest musicians in Calgary. Adam Esposito (Cam Penner), Craig Newnes, Clea Roddick, and James Bailey (Palm & Sago), Mike Little (Mocking Shadows, The Road Hammers), Spider Bishop (Tim Hus), Lenny Gallant (Blood Dungeon), Trina Nestibo (Soultree), Shane Roberts, Sandy Switzer, and Kevin Spear all lent their talents to this project. Produced, Recorded, and Mixed by Craig Newnes between May and October 2005 at Glow Music Arts in Calgary, MacLeod’s debut full length, self-titled album is a warm collection of tales that will please any listener. Seaside fables, love gone wrong, and old farmhouses are all images on the landscape carefully painted in your mind.

Scott MacLeod is out now on Blue Pie for the World.
